-MEET THE STARS OF THE RANCH-
"BETTY WHITE DELIGHT"
Betty White Delight, the “Queen of Comfort,” is the largest alpaca on the farm — and an unmistakable presence with her signature cotton-white fleece and iconic puff of fluff atop her head. She’s one of our oldest alpacas and also one of the most laid-back and nurturing.
Though she arrived with a few early health challenges, Betty has truly blossomed into her full, radiant self — a gentle matriarch who lives for naps, fans, and belly spritzes on warm days. If there’s a cool corner to be found, Betty’s already claimed it. Her calm demeanor and gentle spirit make her the perfect greeter for our senior visitors, school field trips, and guests with disabilities or neurodivergent individuals. She brings a sense of comfort and ease to everyone she meets.
She adores snacks, snacks, and more snacks — and while she’s as docile as they come, she’ll get adorably feisty if another alpaca dares to steal her treats. Betty is also the proud mother of Phenix, and her calm, wise presence helps shape the peaceful rhythm of herd life. She’s as soft in spirit as she is in fleece — a true icon of the pasture.

"EVERLASTING PHENIX"
Phenix, the “Water Sprite with a Warrior’s Heart,” came into the world under tough circumstances. Unable to receive her mother’s first milk, she spent her first eight days in the hospital, fighting without an immune system — but true to her name, she rose through the challenge with quiet strength and came home a survivor. Since then, Phenix has embraced life with a full heart and a playful soul. She’s the undisputed water hog of the herd — first in line for belly baths, bold enough to nudge bigger alpacas aside just to sip from the hose. She’s often found chin-deep in the water bucket, her little white face proudly stained with the signature “water chin” she shares with her mom.
Her best buddy is not an alpaca at all, but Bodhi, the farm’s livestock guardian dog. From the moment she returned home, she nuzzled with him and jumped on his back like he was her own personal jungle gym. Their bond is as unlikely as it is unshakable. Phenix is sweet, gentle, and a little clueless — but always full of love. She and Betty White Delight are inseparable, often curled up together or side-by-side at the water bucket. They’re the heart of the herd: two peas in a very fluffy, very hydrated pod.

"SASSING AT THE STARS"
Sassy, the “Playful Matriarch,” is the oldest member of our herd and the undisputed queen of the pasture — not through dominance, but through confidence and charisma. True to her name, she’s full of spark: playful, curious, and always in motion.
She prefers admiration from a respectful distance (unless you’re offering snacks — then she’ll come running). While she’s not fond of petting, she absolutely loves praise and being talked to like the majestic, otherworldly character that she truly is.
Sassy is the proud mother of Luna Noire, and her spirited energy continues to shape the rhythm of life at the ranch. Her fiber is as vibrant and full of life as she is — just like a little piece of stardust grounded to earth. Sassy frequently lives up to her name as she has been known to find her way into closed food bins to reward herself with an extra treat while no one is looking. She is also quick to let us know when a gate has been left slightly open as she likes to escape and live on the wild side for a while.

"LUNA NOIRE"
Luna, the “Heart of the Pasture,” was the very first cria born on our farm; arriving on Halloween morning 2022, like a little piece of magic. Although she has grown and matured, she remains one of the friendliest and most intuitive members of our herd.
Luna doesn’t just respond to her name—she runs to it. She’s deeply present, often the first to notice someone new or someone in need. Whether it’s an older visitor, a child, or someone who moves through the world a little differently, Luna instinctively senses how to make them feel safe and seen. She’ll gently lay down beside those who can’t move easily, patiently offering her calm energy and companionship.
Luna is gentle and crowd-savvy, a natural at reading the rhythm of the farm. While her mother, Sassy, brings flair to the herd, Luna brings a grounded grace. She’s soft, docile, and yet quietly seeks human connection. It’s this rare mix of ease and empathy that has made her a favorite among visitors over the last several years. Many guests describe feeling a shift after being with Luna. They feel more present, more at ease and more in tune with themselves. Her peaceful energy has a way of gently bringing people back to center.

"LOVER'S FANCY"
Fancy, the “Charismatic Second-in-Command,” seamlessly blends beauty, intelligence & attitude. A true diva and chameleon, she can adjust her personality based on the crowd or the situation. With her soft light fawn fiber and striking presence, Fancy adores human interaction and will happily stand by your side for hours if there are scratches and snacks involved.
She thrives on attention, especially during alpaca yoga, where she makes a point of mingling with every guest — always graceful, always aware of her audience. Within the herd, she’s not afraid to throw around a little attitude and sass to maintain her place near the top, but it’s all part of her elegant assertiveness.
She’s the proud mother of Willeo Moon, a beautiful medium fawn girl already following in her mother’s confident footsteps. The two of them have an inseparable bond that highlights Fancy’s loving and nurturing approach that she has adopted with motherhood. Fancy’s fiber is as warm and soft as her gaze — and her personality leaves a lasting impression with all that have had the privilege of being in her presence.

"WILLEO MOON"
Willow, “the Spark of the Next Generation,” was the second cria born on the farm — and she’s already made her mark. With her soft medium fawn fiber, boundless energy, and bold spirit, she’s the most assertive of the young alpacas, always first in line and never far from the action. Willow has a signature pep in her step — she runs and hops joyfully to get her favorite grain, bringing life and laughter to the pasture.
She’s known for her strikingly beautiful face, with eyes so big and lashes so long it looks like she’s wearing makeup. And if you’re lucky enough to get close, you might just get one of her famous alpaca kisses or a gentle nuzzle for a good cheek scratch. As the daughter of Lover’s Fancy, she’s inherited both beauty and boldness — and she’s growing into a star all her own.
A little-known fact is that Willow is actually just a nickname that she is often called around the farm. Her real name actually carries a deep connection to the local area. Named after the Cherokee girl whose story gave Lost Mountain its name, Willeo Moon carries the spirit of the land and its history — just like our farm, Lost Mountain Alpaca Ranch.
